Learn Something

My great-grandfather said that he learned something new every day and that the day he stopped learning would be the day he died.

He lived to the age of 102. That year the family decided he could no longer work his farm in the Ozarks.

They put him in a nursing home and the doctors gave him some medicine. Two days later he died.

I was 15. I thought the medicine must have made him so groggy that he stopped learning things. It made me sad inside.

To this day I try to stay open and look for opportunities to learn new things. I look at each day as a journey filled with insight and expanding horizons; lest I become stagnant and meet my end.
