A Winter Night by SDR

A Winter Night

In the still quiet of the winter's night

I can see my breath, I can feel it's might

Filling my lungs with the frigid air

Cooling the fire of despair roaring there

Until I sat under the cool moonlight

I did not realize the measure of my fright

I wonder at how in the world I got here

And how I can possibly relieve my despair

The path taken matters little in my plight

I must gather the courage to remove from my sight

Every negative thought kept in my lair

Every person, everything not welcome there.
